FAQ: Two Prime Product Mines

The official website of t44. This guide provides an independent review of the Two Prime Product Mines demo. The game uses a 4×4 board with printed labels 1–16. Players select hazards (3, 4, or 5) and reveal safe tiles to increase the gross return. This page answers common questions about scoring, wallet persistence, and settlement rules specific to this demo.

How Scoring and Probabilities Work

Scoring is governed by the mines::two-prime-product support predicate. Hazards are uniformly sampled from complete subsets where the product of selected printed labels has exactly two distinct prime factors. Safe observations filter this finite support.

  • Initial Value: 97% of the captured stake.
  • Growth: Each successful reveal divides the CURRENT gross value by the exact posterior safe probability.
  • Probability 1: If the posterior probability is 1, the gross value remains unchanged.

For example, with 3 hazards, the support count is 167. Before any reveal, label 4’s exact safe probability is 119/167, approximately 0.7126. At a stake of 20, the initial gross is 19.4, which rises to approximately 27.23 after a safe reveal.

Stopping Rules and Controls

You may collect after at least one safe reveal, or continue with an eligible cell. Choices are disabled when the gross return exceeds 1000 times the captured stake (equality is allowed). The system automatically banks only when no eligible uncertain choice remains.

FeatureRule
Stakes10, 20, 50, or 100 play coins (default: 20).
LockingSettings, restoration, and starting a new round are locked while active.
Auto-BankTriggers only when all uncertain choices are disabled.

Wallet and Balance Persistence

The demo wallet persists in the browser's local storage. Clearing cached files may leave local storage intact.

  • Restoration: A manual idle-only restoration sets the balance to exactly 1000 if it falls below 10 while idle.
  • Refill: Setting the balance to 1,000 does not clear fractional carry.
  • Unfinished Round: If you reload during an active round, the captured stake remains deducted. The round ends without refund, payout, or continuation.

What 97% Return Means

The theoretical gross return is 97% of the stake under the demo’s supported stopping rules. It is a long-run expectation, not a 97% chance of winning, a session promise, or net profit. A hazard returns zero. Saved simulation measurements support the mathematical checks but do not change the payout rule.

Privacy and Storage

This demo stores the virtual-coin balance and fractional payout carry in browser localStorage. The page loads Google Fonts stylesheets and font files, and a Statinside counter script (counter 44). These requests can expose ordinary connection information to the services. Local wallet storage and the absence of a login do not establish anonymity or a complete account of server-side processing. No account or payment controls are implemented in this demo.

Responsible Use

This guide has an 18+ intended audience and virtual coins without cash value. Choose your own time and coin limits; the demo has no timer or self-exclusion controls. Take breaks between rounds. You may collect after a safe reveal to end a round; reloading or closing an unfinished round does not resume it or refund its stake.

Frequently asked questions

How is the gross payout calculated after a safe reveal?

The gross payout is calculated by dividing the CURRENT gross value by the exact posterior safe probability. If the probability is 1, the value remains unchanged. For example, successfully revealing label 4 first with 3 hazards (safe probability ~0.7126) increases the gross from 19.4 to ~27.23 at a stake of 20.

What happens to my balance if I reload the page during a round?

The captured stake remains deducted. The unfinished round ends without refund, payout, or continuation. Controls default to a stake of 20 and the first preset upon reload.

How does fractional carry work?

Fractional carry persists in browser localStorage across settlement, refill, and reload. It is not cleared when you refill your balance. At settlement, the floor of (raw gross return + stored fractional carry) is credited; the remainder persists.
